In Malaga city there is also a Roman Theater. This one is built similarly to the earlier built Greek theaters where it is noted that the designs, styles or the architectural influences by the Romans were coming from the Greeks. However, these two similarly theaters have differences. For example the foundations, the Greek ones are built on stone instead of concrete.
The Roman Theater has been destroyed due to the invasion of the Germans during the 3rd century A.C. But historically, the said theater was built in the 1st century B.C. after the German invasion the said theater almost collapsed and the stones which were left were used to build the Alcazaba with.
However, the said Teatro de Romano or the Roman Theater is situated at the western part of the city. It is one of the fortresses of the Malaga city. Actually the Theater has been discovered in 1951 after it has been buried for many centuries.
Roman theaters needs superior acoustics, Roman Theaters does not feature races or Gladiator events. Instead, these theaters hosted events such as Plays, Pantomimes, Choral events and Orations. The purpose of the semi- circular design of the Roman Theaters is to enhance the natural acoustics.
The auditoriums of the theaters are usually constructed on the hills or in some slopes area.
